Collection: Amethyst Plume Agate

This is an extremely rare variety of agate, new to the market, and only available here at West Desert Digs. It consists of a glassy, translucent purple gemstone, with feathery cream-colored plumes within, and occasional moss. It is backed by a snow-white quartzite host rock, and is sometimes accompanied by yellow opal. The agate is very hard and very stable, and is a superior lapidary and jewelry stone. This material is sourced from a tiny mine site atop a small hill, the only deposit known to exist, and is therefore a very limited resource. If you're looking for a truly rare specimen that will turn heads, this one is for you.
