Collection: Sunflower Opal

This is a unique variety of gemmy yellow opal from a very small mine in Utah's west desert. The color ranges from dark amber to a light canary yellow that is quite translucent. While most material is suitable for cabbing and polishing as specimens, there is some that can actually be faceted. This is a surprisingly high quality stone that is very fun to work with, especially for serious collectors and craftsmen.
